Founder, Big Tent Coalition

A renowned political economist, leadership scholar, and democracy advocate, Professor Pat Utomi is the Convener of the Big Tent Coalition, the umbrella platform that birthed Obidient Connect. For decades, he has championed policies and ideas that place people, not politics, at the center of governance. His vision for citizen-driven political engagement provided the seed that grew into the Obidient Connect platform--Nigeria's first tech-enabled grassroots and diaspora mobilization hub.

Coordinator, Obidient Connect

As Director of Media and Communications at the Big Tent Coalition, Odibo has been at the forefront of crafting strategy, building narratives, and designing platforms that amplify the voice of millions of Nigerians seeking transformative leadership under Peter Obi.

An accomplished marketing and communications professional, Odibo brings to Obidient Connect more than two decades of high-level experience leading corporate and political communications. He has headed the Marketing and Corporate Communications teams of three leading Nigerian banks, where he built strong reputations for innovation, credibility, and impact. His career has spanned branding, public relations, and campaign strategy, consistently marked by his ability to translate vision into actionable messaging that connects with people at all levels.

As a leading architect of the Obidient Connect platform, Odibo combined his professional pedigree with a deep personal commitment to democratic renewal, building a platform that not only connects Obidients by polling unit but also empowers diaspora Nigerians to play a critical role through sustained financial support and international advocacy.

Under his coordination, Obidient Connect is positioned as the game-changer of the 2027 elections, ensuring that the movement moves beyond voices on social media into structured, accountable grassroots mobilisation.

Dr. Yunusa Salisu Tanko

National Coordinator, Obidient Movement

A seasoned politician, activist, and administrator, Dr. Tanko brings over two decades of grassroots organizing, national political engagement, and professional expertise in finance and management to his leadership role.

Dr. Tanko has held key positions in the National Conscience Party (NCP), including Deputy National Chairman and 2019 Presidential Candidate. He also served as Chief Spokesperson for the Obi-Datti Campaign Organisation.

Widely respected as a bridge-builder, reform advocate, and de-tribalised Nigerian, he now leads the Obidient Movement in building grassroots structures that will ensure transparency, inclusivity, and ownership.

Dr. Chidi Okpaluba

Ag. Director General, Big Tent

Dr. Chidi Okpaluba is a veterinary doctor, entrepreneur, and a key leader in Nigeria's Obidient Movement. He served as the Director of Situation Room for the Big Tent Campaign Management Council, where he played a strategic role in monitoring, response coordination and ensuring operational integrity at the grassroots.

As a veterinarian, Dr. Okpaluba brings scientific training, discipline, and a strong sense of data-driven rigor to his work in Big Tent. As a businessperson/entrepreneur he understands both operational management and pragmatic problem-solving.

Within the Big Tent, he is Coordinator of the "Clean-Up Nigeria" project--a youth-led environmental, social and civic initiative aimed at engaging youth, cleaning up public spaces, and generating positive, action-oriented narratives in support of change. He also frequently participated in major Big Tent fundraising and awareness-raising events (telethons) as a leading figure, helping to mobilize civil society in support of the Obidient Movement.

Director of Media, Obidient Movement

Nana Kazaure is a respected media professional, political communicator, and civic advocate whose voice became one of the defining shapers of narratives at the Obidient Movement during Nigeria's 2023 presidential election.

As the Director of Media for the Obidient Movement and a Spokesperson for the Peter Obi Campaign, Nana brought clarity, passion, and purpose to the national conversation, helping to shape a narrative of hope, accountability, and good governance that resonated across Nigeria and the global diaspora.

As a leading voice in media, her communications strategy has consistently bridged the Obidient movement across Nigeria and the diaspora. Her leadership has centered on the idea that the movement's message -- Connect. Organize. Donate. -- reaches every polling unit, community, and diaspora network, amplifying citizen action for a new democratic future.

Nana's career spans strategic media relations, public affairs, and advocacy communication. A strong believer in people-powered democracy, she continues to champion civic technology and digital mobilisation as tools for transparency and inclusion in governance.

Her unwavering commitment to truth, her empathy for ordinary Nigerians, and her ability to inspire through words and action make Nana Kazaure an invaluable force in shaping the narrative and visibility of the Obidient Connect platform -- at home and globally.

Dele Farotimi

THINK TANK Leader

Barrister Dele Farotimi is a retired legal practitioner, activist, and author who is a key figure in The Think Tank, the policy and strategy advisory arm of the Big Tent Coalition.

Within the Think Tank, he contributes to generating policy proposals, shaping public conversations, and helping ensure that the movement's platform is evidence-based, people-centred, and aligned with ideals of transparency, accountability, justice, and equity.

His published works critique corruption, injustice, and the failures of governance in Nigeria, and his policy thinking helps anchor Big Tent's platform in evidence, ethics, and reform.

Dele believes in a Nigeria where politicians serve the people, where justice and accountability are foundational, and where leadership is driven by what is good for the many, not the privileged few.

A collective of Obidient leaders across North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, ensuring that global voices are not only heard but also integrated into campaign strategy and execution.

Donation Disclaimer:

Obidient Connect is a citizen-led civic platform powered by The Big Tent Coalition.

 

Diaspora donations are used strictly for activities such as civic education, election transparency, grassroots organising, digital infrastructure, public enlightenment, and advocacy for good governance.

 

Diaspora funds are not for direct campaign financing and are NOT transferred to any political party or candidate.

 

This ensures full compliance with the 1999 Constitution (as amended) and the Electoral Act 2022, which prohibit foreign donations to political parties and candidates.

 

We are also registered under the laws of United States of America as a non-profit 501(c)(4), which forbids us from funding a political candidate or party, but to fund mobilization of grassroots networks, global advocacy, educate voters, and strengthen civic participation.
